ResaPrezioso confirms its strong links with the repair market for large cruise ships (March 2019)

The "Carnival Triumph" arrived at the beginning of March at Navantia Shipyard in Cadiz. This is the first time ResaPrezioso (Joint Venture between Altrad and Resa) starts a massive project in this sector of activity, after having signed on 1st March a framework agreement with Navantia (for a three-year period). Equipment and technicians from Altrad / Prezioso Linjebygg have been sent to contribute to what will undoubtedly be a memorable project, since the "Carnival Triumph" is the first cruise ship of the Carnival group. ResaPrezioso will develop several disciplines and activities: hydroblasting, conventional sandblasting and shot blasting processes, and industrial coatings.

The boat will stay 40 days in the shipyard for a deep renovation. This project will also be a real race against the clock to modernize, "from the bow to the stern", this great ship, which appears to be a monumental structure.
Some 3,000 people are participating in this project, which represents an investment of 178 million euros. Logistics implies a quasi-permanent movement of 1,500 containers. For this reason, the Cadiz shipyard management had to develop a special plan of action to facilitate the entry of the bay workers, to favour the transit of operators through the industrial zone, and not to hinder the loading and unloading of materials.
