SOCAR Cape Tree Planting – Absheron Peninsula (Baku, Azerbaijan)

As part of the Altrad Groups sustainability drive we are delighted to be working with our partner SOCAR through the joint Venture SOCAR Cape, in support the planting of trees at the Absheron Peninsula in Azerbaijan.

On the outskirts of Baku and at the East of the Caucasus Mountains, the landscape is an undulating plain that ends in a long spit of sand dunes known as Shah Dili, and now declared the Absheron National Park. The tree planting initiative is part of a wider scheme to replant the landscape and rejuvenate the area which SOCAR Cape are delighted to support

The SOCAR Cape team in conjunction with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources supported the planting of some 4000 Olive, Pine and Alder trees

SOCAR Cape General Director Ilgar Ahmadov commented: “This is a fantastic scheme for the team and I to be involved in, one that will have a long-lasting legacy for the area. We look forward to our continued involvement in similar future schemes”
