Altrad Nuclear Cumbria – Local Education Support

Altrad is proud to announce that Altrad UK, Nuclear Division, Cumbria has taken the initiative to work with and support Mayfield School and BEE Unique.

The school provides essential support for children and young people with special educational needs, and BEE Unique, a local charity, helps to relieve the needs of families and carers of those diagnosed with autism by the provision of support, recreational activities, educational items, entertainment, and education. Both Bee Unique and the Mayfield school have a close relationship.

Altrad, with volunteers from the Altrad Sellafield workforce, will provide and install essential sensory and outdoor equipment, and be directly involved with the delivery of a specialist event tailored to those young people diagnosed with autism and special needs, celebrating these unique children and fundraising in support of the two charities.

In addition, Altrad will also work with the organisations to provide work experience opportunities within the Altrad organisation.

Nuclear Business Unit Director Paul Raper commented: “These are fantastic organisations that provide amazing support for the local community in Cumbria, we look forward to working closely with them both and having made a positive impact for what is a great cause”.

Altrad Group CEO Ran Oren commented: “This support will make a real difference to the local community and will also have huge positive impact on the Altrad team with their hands on involvement. It is fundamental that Altrad gives back through positive and rewarding impacts for the communities in which we work, so I am naturally delighted Altrad is involved”.
