ALTRAD continues to strengthen its presence and involvement on the Karratha gas sites on behalf of Woodside

In 2015, Altrad signed for a significant new project in Australia, with Woodside, with the aim of extending the life of the facilities located in Karratha (as part of the “North West Shelf Project Extension”).

To respond to this long-term project, which involves constant attention to the many challenges that arise daily, Altrad Services has been delivering its missions in joint venture with UGL Operations & Maintenance Pty Ltd.

The Australian subsidiary of Altrad is present there through a team of more than 500 people, all positions combined, from “remote” project management staff to the field operators and technicians.
It implements a solid framework of safety culture and the accompanying tools, essential to the smooth running of operations. We therefore ensure that each member of the team is trained and made aware of process safety so that our trades are deployed in a true spirit of “safety culture”: Access (scaffolding and rope access), blasting, painting and coating, cladding and insulation, application of fire protection systems, electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, structural and piping work. Everything is deployed with professionalism and a true sense of responsibility.

Committed to the local community, Altrad has developed innovations dedicated to its assignments on this site, including innovative refurbishment options such as STOPAQ, HUMIDUR, dry ice blasting and auto blast & recovery systems. We value training through internships (seven certificates III in surface preparation and coating application) as well as through sponsorships (partnership with the Tambrey Primary School). We are committed to supporting the local community, and we think that improving skills involves training and employing indigenous youth.

With its experience and knowledge, Altrad, whose policy is to foster continuous improvement in all its activities, has received many awards and recognition from Woodside. In 2017 our teams received the Olympic Silver Medal and “Safety Culture Cup” award (safety and continuous improvement). In 2018, we were awarded the certificate of recognition to the painting, insulation and passive fire protection team, as well as many other certificates related to the performance of our teams on the site (“Flash Tank Coatings Team”, “Stand Together for Safety”, “Process Safety”, “Flare Tower Works Completion”, “Shutdown Completions”).

Our success has always been the result of collaboration and an unwavering desire for constant improvement. As true partners of our client, we are moving together, with him, on the road to success.
