World Mental Health Day

Today, October 10th, marks World Mental Health Day. This year, the World Health Organisation is focused on suicide prevention.

Did you know?

Every 40 seconds, someone loses their life to suicide. Furthermore, for each suicide, there are more than 20 suicide attempts. Suicides and suicide attempts have a ripple effect which impact families, friends, colleagues and local communities

At Altrad, the mental health of our employees is a matter of high importance. Maintaining a healthy working environment is essential to the group and its employees. It is imperative to conduct regular discussions to alert our teams about mental health issues and provide the necessary support to those who need it.

Some tips that may help to improve your mental health:

  • Give and accept support
  • Talk to work colleagues, friends and family
  • Do things that make you happy
  • Keep active

Zero2Hero, standing up for young minds

Protecting a young person’s mental health is crucial. In addition to giving them the right tools to start in life, it benefits both the economy and society. It’s a fact that healthy young adults contribute more to working life, to their families and to their organisations.

That’s why, at Altrad, we support Zero2Hero. Zero2Hero is an Australian based charity, that helps young people who suffer from mental health issues. The association has set up various initiatives, school programmes, student camps and workshops with parents to raise the awareness of the risk of suicides.
