Prezioso Linjebygg, a services subsidiary of the Altrad group, deploys all its know-how for its client KemOne in Fos-sur-Mer (France)

Prezioso Linjebygg, a services subsidiary of the Altrad group, has been awarded a project worth more than 2 million euros, at the heart of an ethylene distribution rack, at the KemOne site in Fos-sur-Mer (France), for the replacement of damaged 'cold' pipes whose insulation material contains asbestos. Prezioso Linjebygg will implement a large part of its trades and its expertise on this project: installation of scaffolding, asbestos removal and depollution, blasting and coating, cryogenic insulation and flame retardant material installation. As a pilot for the group formed with the pipefitter IREM, Prezioso Linjebygg will handle the asbestos removal process for piping sections still in operation, and then proceed -from the first day of shutdown- with the appropriate pipe cut-outs. At this point, the operators will be able to continue with the insulation phase of these same pipes (as they will be cleaned and repaired).

The main issue in this project remains the planning, as the production unit distributes ethylene to several customers of KemOne. The teams will complete the piping replacement process and the insulation phase in 5 weeks.
