Altrad has finalised the acquisition of the Spanish company Umacon, specialising in the manufacture of concrete mixers and lifting equipment

Altrad, world leader in the manufacture of construction equipment and industrial services, has recently acquired the Spanish company Umacon, a specialist in concrete mixers and lifting equipment, operating mainly on the Iberian Peninsula. Umacon has been operating for more than 60 years, and benefits from a strong reputation not only in Spain but also in a number of international markets. Based in the city of Zaragoza (north-east of Spain), the company will enhance the Altrad Group’s portfolio of products and brands. It joins names such as Belle, Irbal, Camac, Guy Noël and Limex.

This acquisition strengthens Altrad’s position in its markets, enabling it to expand its catalogue via the Umacon range of concrete mixers and the introduction of the Umacon product range dedicated to lifting (elevators, electric hoists and winches in particular).

The integration process ran smoothly over several months. Clients were quickly informed and were able to appreciate the transition phase, during which products continued to be delivered as normal. Today, the Umacon equipment manufacturing processes are being integrated into Altrad factories across Europe.

Ángel Parcerisa, Managing Director of Altrad Plettac Ibérica, based in Vilafranca del Penedés, which will manufacture and sell Umacon equipment from now on, “warmly thanked Miguel Ángel and Pedro Cubero Falcó, the former owners of Umacon, for their work at the head of a company that they have positioned as a benchmark in the world of construction equipment”.

Ran Oren, Joint CEO of the Altrad Group, added that “the employees of Altrad were proud to be able to include the Umacon brand in their catalogue, given the quality of the products, the company’s spirit of innovation and the professionalism that its employees have always demonstrated since 1962”.
